Modern applied areal air&water quality monitoring has emerged from simple and straight forward data logging and reporting tasks towards a complex set of analyzing processes with interdependent filtering and quality assurance feedback not only from monitoring sites, but from calibration laboratories, wide area investigation and analysis programs provided by federal or even continental based organisiations as well.
On top of it a broad range of analytical reports, assessments, early warning tasks and public information and dissemination business is heavily depending on proper and high stability operation, to support Your everyday work at best. All those measures and activities will be supported by UBIS© in a balanced mix of centralised versus federative workflow management.
Measurement data with their accompanying quality figures and process relevant indications and parameters are administered centrally, whereas individual and groupwise configuration and operation settings may be organised locally. Accordingly data consistency and integrity needs to be granted, despite fully reflecting and supporting individually structured user organisations and their specific workflow needs.

Because of the inherent time managing capability of UBIS, automatic alerting for initiation of either level of notification - warning or alarm as well as event logging covers general requirements in that field.
The ability to configure multiple excess limits (zones), generate and transfer alarm notifications (messages) by either combinations of user defined occurrences or event driven changes in state, provide an effective system to handle quite complex alert conditions safely.
The limit value monitoring will be activated not only based on unchecked, not aggregated va-lues, but also on aggregated values acquired and in addition on both types of value deviation events, exceeding and falling below limit.
Event logging capability and its underlying database finally closes the gap between the internal operational and external information oriented tasks, to provide a comprehensive solution close to total quality aspects.

An abundance of information must be configured for a monitoring network at several levels, ranging from the network layout per se, the sites, divergent means of the users, the pollutants including their attributes, up to the analysers and their settings.
Simple, comfortable and rapid handling progress via e.g. copying of complete sets of instru-mentation settings plus plausibility checks are required and a must. By help of so-called "types of component" the specific features and technical performance of the individual analysers are defined to enable correction of special peculiarities, such as deviation of Zero / Span, Detection Value Compensation, Sudden Value Rise and others.
For everyday administration of the network specific informations an integrated "log book" is available. A large number of selections and filters allow for highly focussed information on monitoring sites, pollutants, cause of errors, analyzer status and more, to be individually arran-ged and commented on determined situations and events when diplayed or printed.
For support and remote updating of system and UBIS - Application Package maximum one workday with minimum blocking time of system operation is needed.
